My last post here was in January 2018. Eight and a half years is a long time between posts, so a little catching up is in order.

I got married. Two more kids came along, bringing us to three. My walk with Christ kept deepening, and I kept reading and building things, even when I wasn't writing about them here.

That included rewriting MySafeInfo from the ground up and launching My Family Devotion, a free devotional for families to read together.

Not all of those years were easy. In February 2023, I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. I had surgery that March and have been cancer free ever since. I won't go into the details here, but I cannot tell that part of the story without gratitude. God carried my family and me through it.

Somewhere in all of that, blogging fell off the list. I still had things I wanted to write about, though, and I want to make room for that again.

I plan to keep the posts short. Some will be about programming, the work I have spent nearly thirty years doing. Others will be about apologetics and theology, subjects that have become a larger part of my life. There will be books, too, and ideas from my reading that I want to spend a little more time with.

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 (ESV)
