Fasting: Opening the door to a deeper, more intimate, more powerful relationship with God
I read this book in July 2015. I was at a crossroad in my life where I wanted a deeper, more personal relationship with God, and this book was exactly what I needed. I ended up fasting for 21-days. My fast started off with clear liquids only for the first 7 days. Then clear liquids and broth for the next 7 days. Then the final 7 days was clear liquids, broth, and rice. For me fasting always helps me start to focus on the things that matter, and it blessed me with a closer relationship with God. It's no coincidence that I gave my life to Christ during this fast (July 4, 2015), and was baptized a week later (July 11, 2015). This fast specifically gave me the courage to recognize the stirring that had been going on in my heart for the longest time, and to give my life to Christ fully. My life hasn't been the same since.
